Sort By is no longer selectable by clicking on column header

Running 78.13.0 32 bit on Win10 Pro. Suddenly SORT BY is not selectable by clicking on column header as it had been previously. It can be changed via the View/SortBy menu but the column head click is more direct/convenient. What might be the issue?

Right-clicking on a column header allows the columns to be displayed or hidden, and clicking a header toggles sorting that column between ascending and descending. If it's not working like that, try running in safe mode (hold Shift when launching TB) to test for a broken layout.

If it works in normal mode on a different folder, right-click a header, Apply columns to..., select the damaged folder.
