What do the message pane icons mean? I have no idea except for the obvious 'bin' icon and clicking in the hope of getting words to appear has more than once lost an email to oblivion. Please can we have words at least when hovering over the icon which often happens elsewhere. There is nothing that I can find in the help files for Thunderbird to explain their use.

Thank you for responding but it doesn't link with my experience - nothing happens if I hover over the icons and I don't think I have the 'conversations' add-on
