download automatically
Hallo,
is it possible to automatically perform downloads in the library one after the other?
I have about 30 or 40 downloads in the list (videos), 2 to 5 GB in size, which of course take time to download. I have to start every single download individually and sit next to it.
Although I have a fast line (230 MBit per second), it still takes a few minutes for each file.
Is it possible that firefox or an addon is monitoring this list and after completing the first one downloads the next one and then gradually all the other starts?
Thanks
Roland

What your asking is something either 3rd party downloader or Addon that would do or one is listed do what your asking. So you need to find other software to do this since that isn't a function in Firefox. You need to go and find if 3rd party software or Addon will do that.

The DownThemAll extension may be of use though it is not quite the same as it was before WebExtensions.
Hallo,
unfortunately that doesn't solve my problem. I think it should be an original function, i.e. a built-in function in Firefox, to process downloads one after the other as described.
As you can see in the image of the download library, I always lose a few minutes between downloads - while I'm sitting next to me reading or researching an article in another window. When I make myself some tea in the kitchen, nothing happens.
As far as I know, computers can be programmed. Surely a watch dog can be programmed that monitors an "active" flag set by the integrated download manager and initiates the next download if it is "inactive".
I've also found that Firefox gets the best use of bandwidth with just one download at a time, while multiple downloads at the same time don't.
But maybe I should take a look at Chrome or Vivaldi.
thanks a lot
