When I click on an email and say reply, my reply is part of the original email.

If the recipient replies by clicking my reply-email, his reply will appear in the inbox in a thread along with the original email.

How can I avoid it so that all emails are listed as independent emails.

See copy of Thunderbird 102.7.0. macOS Monterey 12.06.3

Hej David

I think otherwise I would have been everywhere. But I hadn't found it. Thanks for the help.

My guess is that your inbox is threaded. Try this - highlight inbox - click view>sort by>unthreaded and see if that helps.

If interested, that is the default since version 102. If you have many folders and want to change the default, this thread has the info you would need. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1398049
