Since 3.6 Firefox always asks me to change stored password for hotmail
I have two linked accounts with Hotmail. Hotmail allows me to switch between linked accounts. If I log in with one account, switch accounts and then log out with the other account, Hotmail allways remembers which account you last logged out with.
If I try and log in with the second account Firefox always asks me to update my password and the prompt doesn't go away.
Both Firefox and Hotmail have undergone recent upgrades so I can't remember which caused the problem first, but it's been like this for around a month and it's getting annoying.
Isn't there a way that Firefox can manage multiple passwords for a single site. I have similar issues with remembered passwords and yahoo, but I don't use it that often.
Thanks for your time and help.

In Firefox all browser windows and tabs use the same cookies that will identify you to the server. If you open a different account then existing cookies are send to the server and the server sees that you already signed on (authenticated). .......... You can look at one of these if you want to sign on with different identities at the same time: CookiePie: http://www.nektra.com/oss/firefox/extensions/cookiepie/ CookieSwap: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/3255 Multifox: http://br.mozdev.org/multifox/ - Different logins at the same time
I'm with 3.6.6, on a iMac with OS Snow Leopard.
Every time I open www.hotmail.com, firefox asks me to type login and password.
The password is saved in my preferences.
What gives?
Thanks!
Try this it worked for me. In tools/options open privacy tab and uncheck 'clear history when firefox closes'. This seems to stop having to resign into hotmail or live mail each time.
