II cnnot add new bookmarks, I have followedthe instruction and reset, how do I resolve this issue

I am unable to add new bookmarks. I have followed the instruction , ie: opening firefox in safe mode and resetting, but the problem continues. Prior to this I had problems with loosing my book marks, when seeking how to fix this problem, I came to understand that the Torbutton extension is missing, but thier is no instruction s for how to fix this problem, all the article say is that the missing torbutton extension is the reason my bookmarks keep dissapearing.

The file that stores bookmarks may be damaged. Try this procedure - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite
