I cannot print using firefox on my Canon printer but I can with other browsers like internet explorer. Why is that?

Are you using the most up-to-date print drivers for that printer?
Canon has had to re-do some of their drivers due to crashing problems they were causing with Firefox on the Mac OSX and WinXP platforms.
