One cause of this problem is already fixed in the latest development builds of Firefox for Android: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=607939

Another form of this problem will be fixed in a future version: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=617851

Wow …. Ok let me restate the issue here as it was obviously missed. I did not say it did not load links correctly from an external source I have not even tested that. Sigh… What I am saying is this, I am in Firefox, I am browsing, I get a call, or switch to a couple different apps, mail and calendar etc then back to Firefox and it gives me a "Firefox is loading" message then clears the web pages I had open. I did not run out of memory, I have lots free and it did not crash, just after a while it seems to unload itself which makes Firefox completely useless as I am always doing multiple things on my phone. Or I have to put it away for University, so having it unload my pages means I cannot use it, and would rather use the default browser that at least KNOWS this is an ANDROID phone not a STUPID iphone that Firefox does.

PS: Firefox is a MASSIVE memory hog so if I am running out of memory is because it has eaten it all up my gosh I have never seen an app for my phone that can use that much. Over all I use very few apps and control the memory to make sure they are unloaded when I am done with them. I admit I like Firefox, it is not my favorite as being in IT for 14 years I personally have my likes and dislikes but I recognize the usefulness and the look of Firefox as well as its ability that opens up many opportunities of many people to add to it. I choose to use Firefox on my Galaxy because I did like it and wanted a little but more control and usability then the default browser. However these issues are barely tolerable and I hope they get addressed soon; I would gladly take a smaller app with a few less features in favor of it not using so much memory or having these issues.

Sorry for misunderstanding. You're correct that the problems you are seeing are caused by Firefox using too much memory. We are working to reduce the memory use in future versions.

One of the bugs listed above (bug 617851) will also improve the situation, by making Firefox restore your previously-open tabs automatically after it has been forced to quit by the Android OS.
