I can not open firefox, tried uninstalling and getting a rejection message that it can not be emptied from trash because the file is in use. Can not update either due to same message

  • Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Thanks. I had attempted to this multiple times yet keep receiving an error message that a certain file is in use and can not be trashed
