I have changed over from IE8 to Firefox and mostly prefer it.

However, I would like to make Firefox act like IE8 in the way the Bookmarks sidebar works.

In IE8, if I click on the Favourite's Star icon the sidebar appears, I select an item and the sidebar disappears again.

Also, if I open a folder in the list of bookmarks, then any other folder that is open will collapse so that only one folder can be open at a time.

Is there any way to make Firefox act like the above two items?

I have Googled for addons but cannot find anything.

Thanks for prompt reply.

I have installed both your suggestions and they do not seem to conflict with each other.

The first one "Bookmark History Panel" certainly does meet my first requirement - i.e. the bookmark sidebar can disappear after a page has loaded in the browser and been activated.

Neither of them seem to allow folders in the sidebar to automatically collapse when another folder is opened.

Many thanks for your suggestions
