I try to import bookmarks (favorites) from IE, but when I go to "file" as the instructions direct, the option of "import" is not available to select (it shows up only dimly and will not respond). What now?

I have carefully tried to follow the instructions for importing bookmarks from IE, as given in Firefox "Help". The "import" choice is simply not available under "File", as it is purported to be.
