How do I hide the favicons on my Bookmark Toolbar?
They weren't there in Firefox 3, but appeared when I installed Firefox 4. I like not having them there, so bookmarks are listed more condensely. I have a Mac with OS 10.6.

You can use this extension:
- Bookmarks Deiconizer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/bookmarks-deiconizer/
extension works partly, take a look at the comments. is there a simple, elegant way without an extension? tried the modifications in userChrome.css without success :( downgraded to 3.6
Add this code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line to hide icons on the bookmarks toolbar.
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ #personal-bookmarks .toolbarbutton-icon { display:none !important; }
