When I attempt to connect to my Linksys WRT120N router (192.168.1.1), Firefox asks for user and password. No matter what I do, it is incorrect. It was working in Firefox before the upgrade. If I switch switch to Internet Explorer, no problem. Using Windows 7, hardwired to router.

If using NoScript or some other script-blocking add-on, you must allow (or temporarily allow) 192.168.1.1 for it to work.

  • Have to reset the password from the default? For the default, see the documentation that came with with router.
  • Many times the the user name is not used, just the password.

Also see the suggestion here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/801393 (I do not need to turn that option off to use my router.)

You need to update the following plugin:

  • Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5.9.615
  1. Check your plugin versions on either of the following links':
  2. Update Shockwave for Director
    • NOTE: this is not the same as Shockwave Flash; this installs the Shockwave Player.
    • Use Firefox to download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive from the link in the article below (Desktop is a good place so you can find it).
    • When the download is complete, exit Firefox (File > Exit)
    • locate and double-click in the installer you just downloaded, let the install complete.
    • Restart Firefox and check your plugins again.
    • Download link and more information: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+Shockwave+plugin+with+Firefox
