When I open firefox, there is a HUGE gap between the tabs and the menu - it's taking up room on my screen.

is here (for example) the back buttons (which don't work) are here

and the tabs are way down here There is a HUGE gap between them and it's taking up real estate on my screen! How do I fix this.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
