Dear valued customer,
We are sorry you had trouble installing our coupon printing software. An installation issue occurs when you have successfully completed the installation, but our server is unable to communicate with your Coupon Printer. You might be running third-party software that is blocking communication with our servers, or disabling the browser plugin, or both. When this happens our site cannot detect your installation and you are prompted to download the installer every time you try to print coupons. To diagnose and fix this problem, check these possibilities...
For Mac OS X:
1) Have your browser plugins been disabled?
Check to see that your Coupons, Inc browser plug-in is enabled.
In Safari, click the Safari menu and select "Preferences". Under the "Security" icon, make sure "Enable plug-ins" is checked.
In Firefox, click "Tools" and select "Add-ons". Under the "Plugins" category, make sure "Coupons, Inc. Plugin" is enabled. If it has been disabled, you will be prompted to install continuously until it is.
- To test your printing ability (without hitting print limits on offers you want), visit: http://b.coupons.com/z.asp
2) If your browser plugins were already enabled, then try doing a fresh install of the Coupon Printer.
First uninstall the Coupon Printer by opening the Applications folder in your Macintosh HD. Locate the "Coupons" folder and run the uninstaller within. Once the uninstaller has completed, re-download the installer from the link provided below and run the installation again.
- To re-download the Coupon Printer installer, visit: http://help.coupons.com and click on "Help Me Install"
3) Is this a browser-specific issue?
If neither of the above possibilities fixes the issue in your current browser, try using an alternative web browser. The Coupon Printer is compatible with Firefox and Safari on Mac; however, an environment-specific issue may cause one of these to stop working on your machine. If your problem is occurring on Firefox, then try printing from Safari.
Please address the possibilities described above and let us know if you were able to identify and solve the issue.
Thank you,

I have never been able to use Coupons.com printer with any versions of Firefox (from 3 and now 4). I have to use IE to print any coupons. So whenever I need to use this printer to print coupons in certain website, I use this add-on without closing Firefox:
Same thing here (what silkphoenix said). After my last update in FF 3.6, I can't use the coupons.com printer anymore. But it works fine with Internet Explorer. So I'm stuck using IE for printing coupons.
I've done all the troubleshooting that Mozilla and Coupons.com recommend, but no luck. It still works fine with Internet Explorer, so I know the coupon printer application is still working. I've also made sure that it's not something like my antivirus software blocking the add-on.
I'd rather use FF, of course, but I've given up on getting a real solution from Mozilla. Since the coupon printer works with IE, it's unlikely the problem has anything to do with the Coupons.com application itself.
Too bad Mozilla can't offer a solution that works. I wish someone from Mozilla could actually Try Doing This, so they'll see that all the standard tech support solutions don't work. Maybe then they'd believe us and actually try to come up with a solution.
Until then, I guess I'm stuck using IE for printing all my coupons. :(
BTW, I don't know if this problem exists with newer versions of FF after v3.6 (e.g. FF 8, 10, 11). Unfortunately, I think the "new" FF is horrible. I don't love IE, but I'd rather use IE than the new FF's. :( :(
BetsyR -- I don't think Mozilla can fix the problem as it's up to Coupons.com to fix it. Some website developers, for some unknown reasons, still do not want to make their websites compatible with any browsers other than IE. Maybe they think since majority of users use IE (which are pre-installed in all PC that are being sold), so they don't really care about other browsers. So until Coupons.com willing to make their printer compatible with Firefox, you would have to stick with IE.
In my case it seems that Firefox just doesn't "see" (or can't find?) the coupon printer application anymore after the FF update. (and yes, my add-ons are enabled - to answer the tech support people's first question).
For me, the coupon printer doesn't even show up in my Firefox "Add-Ons" list anymore. Is that what people typically see when they're saying the coupon printer "doesn't work" with FF? The coupon printer was visible on the add-ons list before my FF update, and now it's totally Gone! It seems that Firefox just doesn't "see" (or can't find?) the coupon printer application anymore since the FF update.
When I'm on the coupons.com site and I click "print coupons", it tells me I haven't installed the application. But it Is installed on my computer, I can see it in my folders, and it works on IE, so it's definitely there.
BTW - I have uninstalled/reinstalled the coupon printer application. I have tried all the suggestions on the Mozilla help/forum sites, as well as the Coupons.com web site. I have closed and re-started Firefox after the installation. I have also shut down and restarted my pc after installation. I tried installing the application with Firefox open, and tried it again with Firefox closed. I've even cleared out all my cookies/history associated with Coupons.com.
... I can't think of anything else to try, except for the "solution" of using IE for coupons.
If it Really is a problem on the Coupon.com end of things, do you think it's worth it if we bombard the coupons.com support team with messages saying they need to fix the problem? (or just a waste of time?) ;(
To answer your last question, it's always a good idea to email the website developer to let them be aware of the problem their sites have with Firefox. If they will take action or not, that's another story.
As I mentioned before, the printer has never been able to work with any versions of Firefox (I have 11). If you really don't want IE, you can try Chrome (which I haven't tried yet).
By the way, every time I installed the printer in IE, I deleted it immediately after I printed my coupons as my Anti-virus programs always detect it as a "spyware".
I guess I'll go ahead and send a message to Coupons.com, especially since I've basically written all the details above so I can just cut and paste. Maybe I'll re-send them the message every couple of weeks, just to be a little annoying. :)...
By the way, I had no trouble using the coupon printer with FF, until my last update (specifically, I'm using FF 3.6). So at least for me this incompatibility issue is a very recent development. Hopefully it's not a permanent one.... I guess time will tell.
thanks!
