When I open bookmarks, the area to the right of the file name is really, really wide. Can this be narrowed?

After installing Firefox 5, the bookmarks pull-down window has changed. First, the area to the right of the file name is extremely wide. Second, when clicking on a filename including bookmark links, the screen listing bookmarks covers the filenames, thus making it impossible to simply scroll back to the filename list.

Firefox 4 and later versions automatically adjust the width to the length of the longest name.

You can scroll down through all bookmarks in the list and shorten the names to make the total width smaller.

Unacceptable. That means external website naming practices can take over my browser's bookmark display characteristics. On point, Firefox 4. doesn't do that - I reinstalled Firefox 4. and checked - something in FF5 has changed, maybe an unknown preferences file. Old questions/answers about FF4 behavior when FF4 was newly released suggest editing a userChrome.css file, but that doesn't work. This is still an open issue making FF5 unusable for many of us.
