Firefox browser, and sometimes tabs, will not open and the error window "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: oSAPlg.oRoot.log is not a function” pops up. When the error window is closed Firefox of the tab will open. I see many others have tis problem but I don't see resolutions that work for me.

Please see solution in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions for "McAfee Site Advisor".

(Windows): For best results you should uninstall McAfee Site Advisor from Control Panel > add/change programs (Programs and Features). Reboot the system. Then Reinstall from http://www.siteadvisor.com/ and reboot the system. When installing refuse other suggested (crapware) applications.

As I said in my earlier expanded comments, this does NOT permanently resolve the problem. This after spending an hour on the phone with McAfee (India) on 2 separate attempts. McAfee said it is a Firefox problem which may account for no such issues with Explorer.

Did you try to disable the McAfee Site Advisor extension?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
