I've downloaded the Japanese firefox-9.0.1.tar.bz2 and unpacked it, only to find no configure and no README files. So I can't compile it. I also tried using an .xpi, but that failed as well. I have the Japanese language packs installed on my laptop, and even switched my desktop language to Japanese with no problems.

I'm running Linux Mint 9 Fluxbox. If possible I'd like to keep my current Firefox and only change the language, however if there is no other way, I'm prepared to remove Firefox.

If you need more information, I will try to provide as much as possible.

Thanks for your help in advance ^.^

I managed to get it ^.^ Here's what I did:

Code:

   sudo apt-get remove --purge firefox

Then I unpacked the Japanese edition:

Code:

   tar xvjf firefox-9.0.1.tar.bz2

I couldn't open Firefox using the terminal, so I went to the folder and opened it from there. The Firefox icon no longer appears, and I can't figure out how to change the shortcut in my menu lol But it's definitely the Japanese version, and all of my bookmarks, plugins and preferences were saved, so everything else will come eventually ^.^

Good luck!! I hope this is helpful ^.^ *bow*
