How can I keep Internet explorer from appearing as my browser even though Firefos is my default browser?

Using desktop computer "Dell Dimension 2400". Internet provider is Juno. When making Firefox my default browser Internet Explorer still comes on when I go to Juno. I have completely uninstalled Internet Explorer but whenever Juno comes on line it is always with Internet Explorer. Have tried installing Firefox as my default browser many ways but to no results. When ever Juno comes on line with Internet Explorer then I can get Firefox. Does Juno control which browser to use? Also I have windows XP.

Close All Web Browsers

  • go to Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> Remove Checkmark from Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser -> click OK

Start Firefox

  • click Firefox button and click Options (or Tools Menu -> Options) -> Advanced panel -> General tab -> place Checkmark on Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup -> click Check Now button
    • IF Firefox was not set as your default browser earlier, it will ask Firefox is not currently set as your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser? -> click Yes button
    • IF Firefox was already set as your default browser, it will display a message that Firefox is already set as your default browser -> click OK button
  • click OK on Options window

Check and tell if its working.
