Sometimes, removing the Yahoo Toolbar requires going into Start, then control Panel, then into Programs and Features. From there you can see if the yahoo toolbar is listed.

If that does not work, try deleting the files listed in Corrupt extension files. Then restart your PC, and try to uninstall or disable the toolbar again.

Tried that only uninstalled the toorbar for IE... there seems to be something wrong with my extensions as nothing comes up in that section.

Ok, try closing Firefox, and when you reopen it, hold down the Shift Key. when Firefox safe mode starts up, Select the "Disable All Add-ons". Then restart firefox. can you go into your extension manager now?

Alright, it seems like your profile is corrupted. Try reading Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles, and create a fresh profile. Then, read Recover important data from an old profile, and transfer the info that you need to your new profile. Only move over what you need, as the more you more over, the higher chance you will move the corruption as well.

This just happened to me too! Also, what does the tool bar have to do with my add on extensions vanishing?! First of all, I stopped using tool bars because it screwed up the memory of my computer and caused it to crash, that's why I don't like tool bars! Maybe it's time to quit Firefox and consider using another browser such as Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc!

This happened to me on two different computers when I installed the new version of Yahoo messenger (and the unfortunately not optional Yahoo toolbar.)

The add on manager displays all tabs, except the extensions tab. It's almost as if they don't want you to remove it :( Anyway, on two different computers, with a different setup etc. and this happening twice doesn't look like the odd incident to me, so I bet there are more people experiencing this.

After a long attempt to try and get the extensions screen to come up as not blank (started in safe mode with extensions disabled/tried the about:addons to see them etc) I finally deleted the extensions.sqlite

This is probably not an ideal situation because after that Firefox re-asks for permission for each and every one of your add ons and also reboots every time you give that permission, but it's the only solution I could find!

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.
