I want my default homepage to start instead of AFG Secure Search

I've always opened Firefox with my homepage appearing. Now, after downloading 12 it brings up AVG Secure Search, meaning extra steps to get to what I want (type in new york times, click on new york times, etc.. I want Firefox to bring up my' homepage choice (default) rather than what Firefox wants. It's my machine! How to I get rid of AVG Secure Search?
