When I open a Google search page and scroll to the bottom, and left-click the "Next" button, things fail. With Safari it's okay. Mac Lion.

Left-clicking on the "Next" button causes the screen to go pale (frosty, faint text) and lock. But right-clicking on the "Next" button and choosing "Open on a new page" instead, works fine. Using Safari normally on the same computer works fine.

If you close Firefox, then start Firefox in Safe Mode, does the problem still occur? To start in Safe Mode, go to Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, then you can disable your extensions one-by-one until you find out which one is causing the problem. See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

Solved! Many thanks.

Which add-on was the culprit? If anyone else has the same problem, it would be good to know which add-on to tell them to disable.
