Internet stops then resumes
It's getting very frustrating not being able to use Firefox efficiently these days. When surfing the web and working online Firefox is always stopping/pausing when loading websites etc. It will be going just fine and fast for about 5-10 minutes then I will click on any random website or multiple and the loading circle just sits there and the browser is not wanting to load any pages... Then I have to jump over to internet explorer again or some other browser and load the same page or any pages, since I don't have any issues with any of my other browsers. I would hate to leave firefox as though I have been using it forever. I am tired of this issue of it no loading any websites because of some error and then all of a sudden it finally loads all sites and goes fast then it stops and can't load etc etc.... Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance !

There are a few things you can try here:
Check Security software
Ensure that your security software (anti-virus, firewall, etc.) is configured to fully allow Firefox to access the Internet. Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet and Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox.
Update your Graphics Driver
An out of date graphics drive can cause weird issues and slowness. Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
Scan for Malware
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try some of the following programs to scan for malware:
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Microsoft Security Essentials (A good permanent anti-virus if you don't already have one)
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Update your plugins
Out of Date plugins are not only a security risk, they cause stability problems in Firefox. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
Reset Firefox
If the above doesn't help, try to Reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
You can also check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
- downgrade the Flash player to version 10.3 or 11.2
