I understand the Ctrl B turns up the Bookmarks when I'm on Firefox, but how can I turn text I write bold? I tried the Text Formatting Toolbar, but that just inserts codes; it doesn't turn the text bold.

It depends largely on what you are doing.

If you are writing web mail there is probably an icon to click for bold text.
There is an icon in this forum that is used when you wish to use.

  • italic
  • bold

Note the markup will be seen as ''italic'' '''bold''' until you use the preview or post.

Sometimes you will see markup sometimes you will not. And the markup may vary.
