How do I prevent the bookmar toolbar arrangement from being messed up?

Firefox sync regularly messes up the arrangement (order) of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar of my main laptop, whenever I use my travel netbook in between. I have arranged about 50 bookmarks there on full HD screen by removing the labels so every time it is a huge undertaking to get them back into order.

Ideally the sync would just pay attention to bookmark toolbar order and how I want it to be the same on every machine (is there no option for that?) As an alternative, is there a way (or add-on) to lock down the arrangement for a local firefox installation (such as my main laptop)? Alternatively, I would also be fine if different bookmark folders could be assigned to the local toolbar on each FF installation (i.e., a different, independent toolbar for my main laptop and travel netbook) through an add-on or other method. Just please, Firefox, leave my toolbar arrangement alone!

You can try the following:

  1. Open the Bookmarks Library

  3. Transfer the HTML file to an online storage service (ex. Google Drive, etc.) or an external hard drive (ex. USB device, etc)
  4. Transfer the HTML file from the online storage service/external hard drive onto the hard drive of the desired computer
  5. Open Firefox on the new computer
  6. Open the Bookmarks Library
  7. In the Import and Backup menu, select Import Bookmarks from HTML...
