I believe I'm running the latest Firefox web browser.

This news site comes up when i hit the plus sign for a new blank tab. If i select a new tab from the Firefox rectangular bar this news site doesn't come up.

Can i please have a genuine fix to get rid of this nuisance news site? thank you

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

You can check the browser.newtab.url pref(s) on the about:config page.
