Adding bookmark adds the bookmark with wrong URL

When I press the add bookmark star, or click the "Bookmark this page" button it adds a bookmark with the correct favicon, but the URL is to some random website in my history, and sometimes some website that I don't recognize at all.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
