How do I fix a new & annoying Firefox habit of sometimes insisting on setting itself as "always on top"?

Sometimes this will apply to only one Firefox Window, sometimes to all firefox windows. Sometimes restarting Firefox will solve the problem, sometimes it will take more than one Firefox restart.

I think I know what you mean, sometimes when I do something on one Firefox window, another window suddenly jumps in front. I found the best thing to do is to reduce all FF windows I am not using to the task bar.

Reducing them to the taskbar gets them out of the way temporarily, but defeats the purpose of using alt-tab to switch between two or more windows. Firefox will not allow the alt-tab function to work.
