Thunderbird has suddenly stopped the once working ability to embed (or inline-ing in the Thunderbird help systems words) small graphics files. Both BMP and JPG inline images appear as an empty box, especially in Replies, but also in new emails. The image appears correctly sometimes in New emails I create, but upon receiving that email, the empty box appears instead. Each time I try to embed the photo, the ‘Image Properties’ dialog does display the selected image in the ‘Image Preview’ area, 361 width, 77 Height – the bmp is only 82k, the jpg 9k in size.

On what operating system are you getting this problem ? And also, i hope you are using the last stable version ?
