How do I enable "click to play" so videos do not play unless I want them to?
I believe there is a setting which will prevent videos from playing unless I click the play button. I want to prevent videos from automatically playing at every site I visit.

I use Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it

Note that there are two different players. One player is using a plugin like Flash and you can set the used plugin to "Ask to Activate". Another possibility is the HTML5 media player and you can set the media.autoplay.enabled pref to false on the about:config page.
Thanks for the responses. The issue is resolved and I'm sure it will lower my blood pressure. Very helpful.
cor-el I took a look. What is the name of the setting you spoke of?
wisco111 Glad your happy. When a web page loads, I like to look around it to see if there is anything else I want to check. Difficult to do when the clip(s) are playing.
I installed the Flash block, and changed "media.autoplay.enabled" to FALSE.
Youtube videos are still, sometimes, playing -- either instantly, or another one when the first has finished.
Also, I can no longer FIND "media.autoplay.enabled" in the about:config search box. Just a blank page looking for that, or for "media.autoplay" or for "media"
The only partial search term that seems to find it is "autoplay"
what is this series "getusermedia" about? Seems to be allowing my screen to be seen by some domain???
