[feature request] Clear history can only be used for all sites. I want to be able to restrict to a specific site.

I need to be able to restrict the "clear browser history" tool to a specific site. Currently the "clear browser history" tool can only be used on all sites whose history falls the criteria I set to clear.

The reason I need to be able to restict to a specific site is as follows. My favorite billing software when I (usually half-heartedly) make an attempt at selling web hosting is BoxBilling. More specifically because it gets installed with search engine friendly links turned off when I first load up the page, and I then turn search engine friendly links on. The reason this is a problem is because of BoxBillings (how should I put it?) way of turning the end-client url into a page. When loaded with search engine friendly links turned off something on the client side locks url redirection to the sef-off method of having the page name done as "http://site.tld/index.php/page-name". So if you load up the page with sef links turned off, and then turn them on, you have to clear the browser history for the site before you can use it since the index page does not have a registered name in the script, and thus you get an error along the lines of "page 'index' could not be found" until you clear the browser history for the site.

I think the closest thing would be the "Forget about this site" feature. This is not just clearing history, but also cookies, bookmarks, permissions, and anything else about the site. For many purposes, that would be too destructive, but I think for your purposes, it might work.

That feature is available in the following places:

  • Library dialog ("Show all history") -- right-click context menu for a history entry
  • about:permissions page -- select the site in the left column, then look for the button on the upper right

To submit a feature request where it won't get buried by other threads, you can use the Input site:
