Somehow my yahoo mail is opening up in a sidebar and I can't get it out. Or it opens up as an overlay over all other tabs. Can anyone help? thanks
Recently my yahoo mail has been opening up in the sidebar, or it is opening up as a full tab, but is overlayed over all other tabs and the only way I can get to the other tabs is to close the yahoo mail overlay. There are no controls showing except on the top left it says YMail (and YMail is how I have it listed in the menu bar if that has any bearing) and on the right is an X.
So, basically I can't keep my mail open in a tab and do anything else. I probably just hit some odd combination of keys, or it could be something with the latest update (ff39) but I don't know how to get it back to normal. It isn't happening with any other tabs or bookmarks.
I did research and couldn't find an answer. I opened with all add-ons disabled in safe mode, but the problem was still there. When I click on the 'show sidebars' it isn't listed (just bookmarks and history) so I can't uncheck it.
Anyone have any ideas? It's just a nuisance, but I'd love to have it solved. Thanks.

Regarding opening in the sidebar:
The most common reason for this is a bookmark that was added directly by a website. Due to limitations on how sites work with bookmarks, these typically have an option set to open in a sidebar.
To fix that:
right-click the bookmark > Properties
Then uncheck the box at the bottom to "Load this bookmark in the sidebar"
Does that fix it?
Regarding being overlaid over other tabs:
I'm having trouble picturing this. Is the site going full screen? The F11 key switches between full screen and regular view. If the website generated a full screen panel, usually the ESC key will return it to normal.
If you see this again, you could experiment with those keys.

Hello,
If the problem results from Ymail, it tries to eliminate and to install manually of new.

jscher2000 just found the solution -- said open the properties of the bookmark and uncheck the 'open in sidebar'.
Somehow my yahoo mail bookmark was checked for 'open in sidebar'. I didn't even know it existed and I'm pretty sure I never checked it. So, I unchecked it and ...problem solved.
thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question.
