Why doesn't activity transfer from one computer to another?
I work from 3 computers/offices for my job. If I open an email at one location through Thunderbird and then sign in at a different computer, the same email is marked as a new email. Why doesn't the action stay with the account?

You need to use IMAP for sync between multiple devices. Sounds like you have POP.
