Font size in OUTGOING email I am composing is miniscule on my screen. Make it larger
Using OSX. Even though my PREFERENCES/Composition /HTML font size is "large" whenever I compose an email the font size displayed on my screen is too small to read; seems to be about 6 or 8 point on my 17" screen with 1920x1200 resolution.
How do I make it larger?
I think I may be composing plain text, which is what I prefer. Under "configure..." I have checked "send as plain text if possible" so I would presume this forces my composition to be plain text.

your using Apple pixel doubling monitors with plain text. Now that in itself is probably a large part of your issue. The second part is plain text has no sizing, so you can't make it larger.
Perhaps this add-on will help. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
I use the Theme & Font Size app, set with SIZE between 16 and 22. This makes the lettering in the system windows big enough.
When I Compose, it seems that Extra Large is what I need to make it big enough.
So what do I need to do to make sure that incoming mail looks that big? There is an addon called Zoom, and I need to click it 4 or 5 times to get it that big.
But even then, when I REPLY, the quoted text becomes small again. Do I need to increase the DISPLAY/ADVANCED/minimum font size ? Been fiddling but not successfully.
Why isn't COMPOSE a known point size -- that's necessary for printing out in the way I want it to be printed !
