Java unavailable for firefox 46.0.1
Hello all,
I've got the message that java is unavailable on my Firefox 46.0.1. when trying to run java plug-in. I've followed all the instructions from https://java.com/en/download/help/firefox_java.xml but it didn't solve my problem.
Installing of Firefox 39.0 (from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/39.0/win32/en-US/) solves the problem, but I prefer to use last version of FF. Could someone help me to solve this issue?
Thanks.

Windows 64-bit Firefox doesn't support Java. Only the Flash and Silverlight Plugins are supported.
Thanks for you replay. But according to the Control Panel I've got x86 firefox installed. Or you meant that I should run it on Windows x86?

I've got the same problem on Windows10 x86. I've got latest version of java and latest version of firefox. I added dom.ipc.plugins.java.enabled setting, but still got the issue.
In order to use other Plugins with Firefox on 64-bit Windows you need to use the 32-bit Firefox and 32-bit Plugins.
The Firefox 39.0 worked with Java simply because it was a 32-bit version. It was not until Firefox 42.0 that there were 64-bit (Win64) Firefox Release also alongside the 32-bit builds.
You can download the 32-bit Firefox 46.0.1 for Windows from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
You posted using the Google Chrome browser, so we can't check the Firefox user agent.
- 32-bit Firefox versions have "WOW64" in the user-agent.
- 64-bit Firefox versions have "Win64" in the user-agent.
Thanks for the answers. In my Troubleshooting Information I can see User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0 I added property dom.ipc.plugins.java.enabled, set it value to false, but I still see "Java is unavailable" message. I'm trying Windows10x86 and Windows10x64. The results are the same. Any other ideas?
