Why has Thunderbird integrated Lightning suddenly stopped accepting multi-day events?

Running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Thinkpad. Been using TB and Lightning for years without problem. I liked the basic functionality of TB/Lightning. Just today, both before and after TB latest update, Lightning will not accept multi-day events. I enter a start date and time. When I enter an end date in the appropriate field, it modifies the start date to correspond with the end date. This happens whether I try to specify times or simply check the "all day event" box. I also have problems editing dates on saved multi-day events (like if I want to make the start date a day earlier and keep the end date the same, it defaults to moving the end date back a day as well, and will not let me manually re-enter the original end date). The only work around I can do is make, say, 4 separate events with the same name on 4 consecutive days for a 4 day event. This is too clumsy to use long term. Thought about uninstalling Lightning and re-downloading it, but I don't want to have to re-add all my events. Anybody else encounter this? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Matt. No, simply restarting TB does not fix the problem. Neither does restarting the machine. Are you running the latest TB update on a PC? What OS?
