My folders disppeared. How do I get them back?

Using the usual tricks don't work. Under View, the folder box cannot be checked. Under Tools, then Account Settings when I click on Copies and Folders I get the following message: An account with this name already exists. Please enter a different account name.

I want them back on my screen.
