If you wish to discuss the principles and reasons behind Firefox updates then this is not the place to get answers. You could try somewhere like Reddit just because it is likely to get noticed or you could try one of the official Mozilla fora where hopefully your questions will be seen by developers and those making decisions: We are only fellow users of Firefox. We are not the developers or decision makers.

My Question: Is there anyway of going back to FireFox 52 so my IBM Rapport Security will work and FireFox won't automatically update it after I use one of the below?

This is the answer I received but I don't know which one to use??

You can look at the Firefox 52.1.1 ESR version

I just posted the last question regarding what to do to try to get my IBM Rapport working again and I used my email address. On here I guess I am supposed to use my Screen name for Mozilla Support which is VNV70.

The Firefox ESR version is a special version that only receives security updates and that will stay at 52 until the next ESR version gets released and that will be 57.0 ESR. So with the ESR version you still get a minor update every time the release version updates to the next release.

So since security is the issue, I'd be back to square one again??? Someone needs to start dialog with these major security providers or this just goes on and on and on. I love FireFox for many reasons but this is crazy. I haven't had this issue with former Security Software from other software made in other countries.

Don't blame Mozilla nor Firefox for causing this issue. This is a problem on IBM's side as they can't be bothered to update their application on a timely basis in time for Firefox releases. But let's face it, Trusteer Rapport is absolute garbage and every time I've ever seen a support question here relating to Trusteer Rapport, almost always disabling it or uninstalling it will help. I feel bad for corporate environments that are forced to use that piece of trash software.

As cor-el stated, the ESR version will STAY at version 52 until 57 hits so you can use that instead of the outdated and insecure Firefox 52.

I want to thank those of you that provided suggestions and answers to try to help me out. Moses you are right regarding IBM Rapport... I did some checking into it.

I am done with this post. I probably got in the wrong forum as I am somewhat of a novice.

I there is something that I need to do to stop this quest or thread, please inform me what that is. I don't want to take anyone elses valuable time trying to help me. God Bless and again, thank you VNV70

You have marked it as solved, thanks for that. There is nothing else you need to do.

If you need help or suggestions about use of Firefox this is the correct place. If you need to ask about and discuss policy or development decisions it is not the best place.
