Can Thunderbird auto sync to show new email in task bar without having to run program? ie: Showing number of new emails in a "Red" circle on the task bar icon at bottom of computer screen. Similar to how Android email shows if there are any new email.

TB can't show new mail notifications if it isn't running. But you could use a program like POPPeeper for checking for new mail and displaying the results in the notification area.
