In the latest update, when you right click on a Recently Bookmarked time, the "Delete" choice is grayed out. You used to be able to select 'delete' to quickly delete an unwanted bookmark. Why did this change, and how can I simply delete a Recently Bookmarked item? Thank you.

I hadn't noticed this change because I hide that section of the menu. I assume this was in response to people deleting them accidentally.

If you do not mind loading the bookmarked page, you can load the page then click the blue star > Remove Bookmark.

If it's something you need to do often, I could suggest creating your own Recently Bookmarked "smart folder" from which you could freely delete unwanted recent bookmarks. This old post has an example of how to do that: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1136252#answer-910157

Thanks for the response. I did see that alternate way of doing it in the FAQs. It's an extra step to do it that way Still not clear why they changed it. Seems like it would be hard to delete a bookmark by mistake since you have to right click in order to get to the 'delete' choice!

Some people have posted here expressing confusion about whether Recently Bookmarked was a duplicate copy of the bookmark outside the folder where they saved it. It isn't, it's the result of a query across all your bookmarks, but not realizing that, they had deleted bookmarks they wanted to keep.

I read the "Old Post". Ridiculous! When is Mozilla FF going to fix this bookmark delete problem. And when is Mozilla FF going to quit screwing around with a good product by making it a bad product. My donations to Mozilla are going to dry up.

Hi kjvankirk, this thread relates to the old toolbar layout of Firefox 56 and earlier. If your question is about Firefox 57 and later, and particularly the new Library button, I suggest starting a new question.

As you know, scroll down past article suggestions to continue with the new question form.

While I might sound like I not up to speed on this issue. I am and I have used the new and "better" way to delete a bookmark. The better way does not work. Now with that said if you are not having a problem then it would most likely be with my system.

Um, what are you talking about with "new" and "better" and not working? What version of Firefox are you running now? If you run Firefox 59 (the current release), the basic starting point of this question does not apply to your version and you should start a new thread.
