when accessing Tasks, it pops up the following dialog box with Error when wanting to add or manage tasks:

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity Location: chrome://lightning/content/lightning-item-iframe.xul Line Number 115, Column 7: <button id="counter-proposal-btn" <="" p="">

^

The box cannot be closed, but can be minimized and other normal functions appear. No tasks can be editted or added, or deleted.

I tried to look for a location to submit bugs, but cannot seem to find such a location.

What OS do you use? What version of Thunderbird are you using? What version of Lightning are you using?

I have located a bug report which describes your issue. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1424197

This seems to occur for Linux and several people in that bug report reinstalling Lightning resolved issue.

Philip spencer says: This bug is happening because the Redhat/Fedora package uses a version of en_GB localization that has broken/outdated dtd files (specifically, they are missing definitions like 'ENTITY counter.button'.... which is why there is an XML parsing error when the counter-proposal button item is enountered).

Please use link to access that bug report. Please tell them: Error message: XML Parsing Error: undefined entity Location: chrome://lightning/content/lightning-item-iframe.xul Line Number 115, Column 7:

     <button id="counter-proposal-btn" <="" pre="">

^
  • The OS you use
  • The version of Thunderbird
  • The version of Lightning.

At bug link, I notice you said Lightning was not installed. If you see Calendar, even if not working correctly, then it must have been installed. However, when you reinstalled Lightning and said it is still not working, where did you get the download from? Please post the link.

both calendar-screen and event-screen gives the same error, with or without lightning.

it was installed using: "dnf install ligthning"

It was then installed using the latest fedora respositories I suppose.

Uninstalling the extensions directly from thunderbird, then re-installing them under the extension manager solves the problem. thanks.
