What server are you talking about eg: outlook.com Popped emails maybe in the server POP folder. You can move them back to Inbox via webmail account.
Have you accessed your emails using another device like a phone which has also accessed via pop? In which case, phone may not be set up to leave on server.
My mail server is Shaw cable. If there is POP folder on the server I cannot see it. Other device (Laptop) that can access it set correctly, still the problem is the same. Tried to Drag and Drop back to the server's Inbox, the Thunderbird's message header showing the small square with the plus sign, the Server does not show the dropped back messages.
You have two computers connecting to Shaw server.
For both computers: Are you using a setting to remove old messages on either of the computers? Do you have these settings on both computers?
- In 'Account Settings' > 'Disc Space'
- Select 'Don't delete any messages'
- click on 'OK
Please post the following info for both computers,. Name one as 'computer' and other as 'laptop' so I know which info came from which computer. In Thunderbird
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- Do Not select checkbox to include account names.
- click on 'Copy text to clipboard' button
- In this forum question, right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select 'Paste'.
- You can remove all info on fonts and printers as not required. Do not edit anything else.
Do this for both accounts on each computer.
- In 'Account Settings' no Disk Space option

re :Right click > paste on Post a Reply is not working either on both devices. The full info was: right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select 'Paste'. That info was to be used in this forum. The support website where this question is viewed via a browser, not the email you received.
re :In 'Account Settings' no Disk Space option. All pop mail account will have this option in Account Settings window. Please check that both computers are not deleting via 'disc space' settings. see image as guide.
re: 'Desktop'
The shaw account shows you have set up two identities for this account.
Usually people do this if they have more than one email address and they are using the account as a catch all, so they can send via two email addresses.
But do you have two identical email addresses set up here?
In Account Settings window:
- select the name of the pop mail account in left pane
- click on 'Manage Identities' button
- If you have two identical identities, please delete one of them.
- click on 'close'
- click on 'OK'
1. I made a mistake with the click a paste: did on Post a Reply instead of the answer box. 2. Only one identity associated with Shaw now. 3. Disk space: no deletion on servers on both devices. 4. The Compacting off-line only? Thank you
do you also get mail on your phone? This is a common source of issues because everyone forgets about it.
1. No phone setup for checking email. To be exact, for some reason some messages remain on the server, about 2% now, as opposed 10% before TB installation. 2. Hoping you could help me out with a different problem: namely Local folders do not show in the folder pane. How can install them? Thank you Matt
Sure it does but you or someone decided it would be a good idea to rename it Archives. The Outbox resides it the default Local Folders account.
