I tries to add a google gmail account and was unsuccessful. When composing a message I see the erroneous gmail address in the "From" drop down menu. How can I delete it?

Running TBird 60.3.2 on an iMAC.

In Tools/Account Settings, is the gmail account listed in the left pane? If so, select it, then Account Actions at the bottom of the left pane, Remove Account.

The account doers NOT appear in the Tools/Account Settings. It is an account I tried to set up in TBIRD and could not do it. I did not realize I had to set up an account in GoogleMail BEFORE I "mapped" it to TBird. It is a "vestigial" account name somewhere in TBIRD that shows in the From window when composing an email.
