Crashing @ morkAtom::GetYarn and "The Account XXXXX is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." Cause: Bad memory?
Hi, I have been using Thunderbird for years without issue. Today whenever I run Thunderbird I consistently get an error message indicating.
The Account XXXXX is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages.
However, the processing never completes and Thunderbird crashes soon after. XXXXX is the name of the email service Thunderbird is retrieving email from.
Here is a copy of my crash report. Can anyone assist? https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/33eae260-1a73-44e8-a22e-c4e000190103
Thanks!
Jerry

I looked at morkAtom::GetYarn crashes a year ago or so, but IIRC they were addressbook related. The current crashes appear to be compact related.
Does your crash or other issues go away if you do the following?
Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode
Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
Hi Wayne, thanks for your reply.
I tried restarting Windows in Safe Mode and Thunderbird exhibits the same behavior. First the error stating that the Account is being processed and then it will eventually crashed.
I also tried running Thunderbird Safe Mode in Windows Safe mode and experienced the exact same thing.
I do know that I had a faulty RAM module which I have now removed so I'm not sure if that could have contributed to this issue in any way.
Thanks,
Jerry
Please post your newer crash IDs
Hi Wayne,
Here you go:
I believe this was the crash in safe mode bp-7735463d-f022-4899-b9b5-68f4e0190103
This crash was just recently in windows 10 bp-137ba824-3ca5-4632-b66f-d499b0190103
Thanks,
Jerry
Those crashes are also morkAtom::GetYarn
Ok, so any ideas on how I can fix this issue?
So I was able to make some progress. I ended up uninstalling Thunderbird. Creating a new profile and reusing my Local Folders. So now I can get Thunderbird to run and retrieve email. However it appears it still crashes with the Get Yarn issue although it takes a while for the crash to occur. Here is the new crash report:
https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/249b1182-ea5f-48ae-94cc-60a180190104
The error returned when I tried to compact folders. I believe you are right the error seems to be related to compacting of folders.
I then reran Thunderbird in safe mode and it was able to complete successfully without crashing. Now everything seems to be working as normal (knocking on wood).
I believe this all stemmed from my faulty RAM issues which somehow ended up corrupting files.

hat add-ons appear in the add-on manager?
The only extension is Lightning
Now that you mention RAM it does ring a bell that this cras may be related to bad memory.
