Sorry, when you reset the password for your Firefox Account all the data on the Sync server is deleted. Sync data is encrypted using the original password; a different password renders that data useless, i.e., virtually unable to be decrypted.

Proper use of Sync is to synchronize data across multiple devices, where when one device dies the other device would still have the data, in a case where the user needs to changed their Firefx Account password. Sync was never intended to be used as a backup media for a solitary device.

You can open about:sync-log via the location bar to see if there is a recent log available. You can upload a recent log if the log is too big to put in a reply.

yea there's nothing in the log folder But there's a bunch of json files in the failed folder.

i don't like sync. For many years i didn't even know what it was. IF just firefox used it i wouldn't mind it, but i wont sync with google, facebook or even icloud. we have several members of my family with the same last name. 2 of us share same residence. She doesn't use hangouts and several like her won't use social media. i use her hangouts since she has no interest. Trying to explain this to google has been crazy. Plus gmail reads our mail so i sold device to her for $10. i don't use gmail, won't use gmail. The ads in promotions were so specific they had te be reading my mail.
