When opening a new tab, regardless of the website, Firefox refreshes the page by itself without any kind of input and it has become so troublesome that even filling information in or watching a music video is impossible, due to the browser resetting back to the beginning every few seconds

I once had a similar problem. It turned out the problem was an add-on

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
