GoDaddy has migrated us all to Office365 as their email server. I'm able to receive email on my Thunderbird on Mac Big Sur 11.0, but when I send email, it asks for the password and then rejects it. I tried changing the password in GoDaddy, tried restarting the computer, and GoDaddy's support chat was not helpful. Is this a Thunderbird issue? I see from three years ago that Thunderbird did not support Microsoft's proprietary authentication stuff, but the settings all seem to be available now that match GoDaddy's specs. Thoughts?

Same thing is happening on a different email address with GoDaddy on Windows 10 Thunderbird. Settings I'm using are Server: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Authentication: Normal password Connection Security: STARTTLS These are the settings Microsoft specifies, as far as I can tell.

Solved. CALL GoDaddy have them enable SMTP authorization on the account and it sends now.

Godaddy gave me some weird explanation why its not authorized (security crap) told them I had been trying to get this to work for 24 hours, Grrrrr... thought I was gonna loose my Thunderbird email, that would of been a sad day.... Just when one thinks they know everything about computers, only to find other people are screwing with ya... Lol Still don't know why godaddy changed there DNS..

what a PITA

Thunderbird server name: outlook.office365.com (pop/imap)

incoming POP: 995 with SSL selected

         IMAP: 993 with SSL selected

outgoing smtp.office365.com port: 587 Youremail@someplace.com encrption method STARTTLS
