Firefox ESR Crashing on Raspberry Pi
I am having a bit of a weird issue regarding Firefox 91.7.0 ESR on Raspberry Pi. Specifically on Twister OS.
The browser seems to work perfectly fine as long as I am not logged in to my account. However, once I click to log in and type my password the browser crashes and continues to do so after each attempt to restart it.
Curious as to why I have been launching the browser from the terminal and each time I see the same error messages when the browser crashes.
"Exiting due to channel error."
Typically there are also GenerateDump messages as well.
The odd thing is I tried Firefox ESR (I believe the same version though I will double check that) on the normal Raspberry Pi OS and am not having the issue. It did crash 1-2 times when I first tried to sync but since then it has run and synced with absolutely no issues.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
Thank you I will try and do that. I can confirm that I am running the exact same version of Firefox on stock Raspberry Pi OS and it is having no issues.
I will reboot to Twister and see what I can find in the way of the crash reports.
OK. I managed to get a crash ID. It was quite a challenge as the browser kept crashing as I was trying to get it.

I had one additional ID but the browser crashed before I could copy it so now I will have three.
The crash seems to happen when the browser tries to sync my account. That would make sense since it functions fine so long as I am logged out.
Though, as the same error does not happen on stock Raspberry Pi OS I don't think it is directly associated with my account.
Hmm. Well. I seem to have fixed the problem.
I copied the profiles from my working stock Raspberry Pi OS install onto the Twister install where Firefox was crashing. Aside from one error in the terminal the browser seems to be working fine.
Apparently there is something strange with profile creation on Twister. Weird.
Feel free to let me know if this was a dumb idea. I tried it just because I was curious and was half expecting it to fail.
