These Terms of Service sound really scary.

I am not sure what the aim of these terms are. Almost sounds to me like firefox wants to be tracked under https://foundation.mozilla.org/en/privacynotincluded

I think a browser should focus on being a browser, i just need a browser to display webpages. I have no need for ai, ads or other products bundled with the browser.

Hi, do you mean information you submit on Mozilla websites, or information you submit in Firefox to search sites or non-Mozilla sites? Each site is going to have its own terms, but for general browsing:

Hmm. Frankly, it seems kind of obvious that when you type something in the search bar, you intend for Firefox to show you suggestions, and if you submit it, to send the text to your default search engine. And that when you upload something to a website, you expect that site to receive it. But I guess there is a legal reason that you need to be told that in a Terms document and not just in a help article. (I'm a lawyer, but I don't keep up with global privacy laws.)

I am concerned! I do not give such a broad license at all! If it is only to display data like jscher2000 writes, I want to see it in writing. That it is the only purpose and scope and this "license" is time-limited only to that particular interaction.

TL;DR Mozilla doesn’t sell data about you (in the way that most people think about “selling data”), and we don’t buy data about you. We changed our language because some jurisdictions define “sell” more broadly than most people would usually understand that word. Firefox has built-in privacy and security features, plus options that let you fine-tune your data settings.

I would really like clarification on what exactly has changed.

1. What is different between the manner Firefox handled our content/data before the change to the Privacy Policy/TOS was published, and after it was published?
2. Or has nothing changed, and only the language was altered?
3. If the latter is the case, why was the language altered?
4. And are there any exceptions or caveats to this rule?
