I have lost not only web address window in firefox, but also all buttons such as tools etc . all there is is Firefox abouve and then goes directly to the google window. therefore all the troubleshooting suggestions don't work, as they involve these buttons. also I quit firefox and then restarted. but there are no buttons such as "options" when I restart firefox, it just goes to the google window w / no buttons or webaddress window. what should I do? in English

Try to clear the Firefox plist file.
Go to "Library > Preferences" and remove the plist file for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).
You can also try to delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the Profile Folder to test if the file is corrupted.

(caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)
Note:
Deleting the file localstore.rdf will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.
You can rename "localstore.rdf" to "localstore.rdf.sav" to test if that solves it.
Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.
